I get a brake linings message on the dash display whenever I go over a more serious road inperfection. Sometimes it comes on as soon as I turn the car on, especailly when its cold outside. I did the brakes last summer, and obviousely they still look good. What gives? Do I need new brake sensors?

I ended up finding a broken wire inside the fender well. I just eliminated the sensor for now and jumpered the wires. My wheels are off enough that I check brake pads for wear and don't really worry about the sensors.
