I have this same problem..I have not found anything either...HELP!!
When I come to a stoplight after car is warmed, the idle is fine at first, then starts pumping and moving the car. Display dims, and car nearly stalls. I searched the archives under "idle surge", "surge" "uneven idle" and nothing relevant. Any hints on the search? I know I have seen this topic before.

If the display is dimming out I'd check the grounds and connections at the charging system (battery, alternator, so on).

Try cleaning or replacing the ICV. That might help.
VOLTAGE REGULATOR!
its inside the alternator, and probably about to take a crap.
I fixed this problem just as el supremo has stated, get that ICV outa there and clean the **** outa it and youll be back in buisness, if your real lazy just take the vac line off the intake elbow and just shoot come throttle body cleaner down it, It might work, if not then it takes a couple hours of taking stuff outa the engine to get that little bugger out.
Clean the throttle plate while you are in there cleaning the IVC. The display is probably dimming because of low idle speed reducing alternator output.
With my problem there is no dimming of the lights just a surge at a stop and when in gear. The ass of my E34 seems to drop. I will try and clean my IVC.
