All (gasoline) BMWs spew a lot of vapor in cool weather. Only get worried if its NOT steam but white/blue/black smoke.

yeah - it freaked me out, too, the first time I saw it. The cat(s) gets a lot of condensation in it on a cold morning and it takes about 20 minutes to clear up. Until then, it always looks like you're blowing a head gasket.
It took Brett Anderson telling me that it was normal for me to believe it -- I'm paranoid about the head gasket on my car...heh.

It sure bugs the heck outta the peeps followin me... I feel like spy hunter some times... lol... mine maybe a little more than normal cause I think my cats r close to death.
this comes from the huge heavy duty exhaust on the bimmers taking a long time to come up to temp
