Default 3 million dollar car on Barret Jackson today

Insane. 3 million for a 1950's chrysler concept car. Young guy that bought it said it was for a museum in Colorado.

A lot of impressive correct cars, so far around $20 million and the auction is only about 1/2 over...Too bad we didn't scoop up the Corvettes back when they were $4300 brand new. =)

The one car that amazed me the most was a Ford GT 40, a car with no heritage other than the past it pulls from, being introduced last year at this time for about $135,000 brand new. It sold at the auction for $280,000....that's a pretty good return for the money if you ask me.
Sure looks like a rich mans sport....

I heard that there is a bit of a scam to these auctions. These cars are being sevely over valued to drive up the market cost of the cars.

    $108,000 for a 1967 Oldsmobile 442
    $163,080 for a 1967 427/435 coupe
    $205,200 for a Chrysler G convertible
    $135,000 for a 57 Chevy
$118,000 for a non original engine 63 Corvette
    $329,400 for Plymouth Hemi Cuda
$324,000 for an LS6 Chevelle Convertible

Give me a freakin break. I heard that a lot of these cars never end up changing hands. There is an aful lot of money that goes the the Barrett Jackson people for these "transactions"
