steering wheel emblem

Has any one changed the nearly invisable steering wheel emblem on the E34 to a colored one similar to newer BMWs?

but i told him that it might not
be safe should the airbag go off..
he took it off the next day heheheh

My 95 E34 has the metallic emblem in the steering wheel. I always figured it was attached to one half of the wheel so that if the airbag would go off it would stay attached to the wheel rather than fly at my face.

I've got one too, when I got the car I just assumed it came with that way but the more I read the more it sounds like maybe it was put on later...I'm not too paranoid though, it looks cool.
