when you say spacers do you mean hubcentric rings?The e34 has 72.5 mm dia hubs a lot of wheels used on e34 have 75 mm hubs dia,you need the rings to make sure that the wheels are always central on the hub and yes only 1.25 mm will make your car shimmy.Even brand new tires can be out of round
