Question on front plastic engine cover (under)

Hi Guys,
My front cover (under front end directly ahead of oil pan) has recently fallen off. I went to the dealership and bought 4 new plastic nuts and I couldn't get them to take on the screws....the nuts have no thread so I assume they have to be forced on somewhat. Can someone help me out here?

Yes that is correct...they aren't pre-threaded, just push a little as you turn.
