Default Replacing front shockers on525iXTa (92)

525iXTa: are aftermarket front shockers (struts) available for the525iXT, or am I stuck with BMWs own (expensive) brand, does anyone know?

If independants are available, any view on which one/which edition?

Sorry I don't know the answer, but I think you just struck upon the ultimate E34 for raw nomenclature quantity. Does it actually say 525ixt on the back? Good stuff!

Not sure about the AWD portion, but i believe that touring struts are the same as sedan. the front ones at least.

No...I think the Awd requires different struts (hence the question). The front suspensions not the same as the 2wd car

You cannot just buy the shock for the 525ix, you must buy the whole strut assembly. I got mine from BMA, I think that they were about $400 ea. 2 years ago.

you purchased, please (although $400 each seems well up to BMW UK price levels...)

I found the old bill. I actually paid $229 each. the numbers are:
    1 90 293 left strut
    1 90 294 right strut
    1 125 878 rubber boots (2) 13.95 ea
    1 133 513 bump stop (2) 15.95 ea
That was in July of 01
