My 92 525i was running perfectly fine.. I went to start it and wouldnt catch.. I bought new plugs and boots for the coils still wont catch.. how do i check the fuel pump? or might it be another problem?

Could be the fuel filter. A lot cheaper to replace than the pump. If it's like the 94 525i, you should be able to hear the pump when you switch the key to the on position. I would also check the fuel pump relay to make sure that's not the problem either.Originally Posted by davidflrs

On my E32 the fuel pump starts running for several seconds (about 4) when ignition is on 2. It will stop again when engine is not started or the required fuel pressure is reached.
The fuel pump relay you can bridge in emergency case.
How did the spark plugs look?
