New rims and tires

I recently lowered my 92 E34, and now I'm looking at upgrading wheels and tires. I plan on going with 18" wheels, with Yokohama AVS dB S2, with 235/40-18 up front. Does anyone know if 275/35-18 size tires will fit on the rear without rolling the fenders?

255 on 10x17 rubbed on turns w/ oem suspension. i had them rolled. it was fine
i lowered the car. still fine.

18's is a BAD idea and 235 - 275 is a WORSE idea.
u'll have really obnoxious undesteer and 18's are just too much

18s are nice except they almost look a little too big for the car. i had to get that front lip spoiler on bavauto to balance out the front end.. make it look like it sits lower.


more extreme is my buddy with an e36 and 19s.. the car looks like it is floating way too high and looks stupid without a body kit.. he had to order a reiger kit to balance it out.

imho 17s probably fit "the best" but i would never go lower than 18". and for all naysayers the ride quality is almost identical to when i have my 15"s on there (also have sachs suspension)

I have 18" rims 235 40 18 on front and 265 35 18 rear, my car is alreay low since I had 17s b4, I like it more with the 18s. I personaly recommend it for the e34 it makes it look abnormal and very close to the 740i 96 onwards side look ( try the Alpine 18" rims )

Is your car lowered? what width rimes do you have front and rear? do you know offsets?
I think E38 M parallels fit with those size tires and a SACHS kit, but not sure.

Yes I have the Sachs lowereing kit installed, I plan on going with Rondell #58Cross Spoke with 8.5X18 in front and 10.0x18 rear.

This is the first I have ever heard of problems with using 18" wheels. I plan on having a complete alighnment when the wheels/tires are installed.

I can assure you that any 275s will rub. Also the 18" set-up is kind of harsh and due to the wider rear wheels, will wear excessively on the inner rear tread. I personally prefer a 245/40-18 fr, 275/35-18 rr set-up which will help offset the understeer issue mentioned in a previous reply. You may have to roll the fenders but the ride/handling is better. I think the absolute best set-up is 235/45-17 and 265/40-17 on 8.5 and 9.5 wide rims.....some use 245/45-17 for track events though..........hope this helps. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Vogtland springs rock.

Well Mine is very simple, I don't know the exact figures but I use the same width for front and rearrims I think it's the same as the new 740i front rims width. if I used offset rims on the rear I would be able to use wider tires on the rear rims, something like what has been mentions later here 275s. Inner side of the tire will rub thats also true I had this problem before I set my car hight right. But I can assure you that you will enjoy the new look and grip

Finally! Vogtland, someone has heard of it; I asked about this before but only got my echo....what do you know about Vogtland? Why do they "rock"? This person was trying to convince and sell me on them but I was convinced he was an imbecile who knows nada about E34s...or BMWs for that matter. How or why are they better than Eibachs or H&Rs?

How?............by having a better spring rate that offers a very compliant ride without being harsh or "racing springs". Why? ......because they seem to have found the perfect compression rates. Just kidding. Actually I have tried them all and found H&R to be extremely firm (hard) and Eibach is not as progressive as the Vogtland which makes them more capable of bottoming out.
