Yesterday, I go to change my foglamp bulbs to get rid of the check control message. After consulting the owner's manual and a "bulb book" at the local parts store, I buy 2 H1 bulbs.
However, after pulling out the assembly I was somewhat surprised to find 9006 51w lowbeam bulbs. What the heck?!?
Was there a big run to convert these bulbs after purchase? Or did BMW decide to change the specs and not reprint the manual?

You've destroyed your lamp control module, or LKM.Originally Posted by aabdelhamid
Sure you've got the OEM foglights? I recently changed my bulbs and they were H1's as expected....dunno....

I had problem with my lightw also and I tested the 100w bulbs (only for test not permanently!), the difference was extremely small, so then I put new HELLA lights, thats it! No more candle-light for me.
I have no idea if the fogs in my car are OEM. They have a brand mark on them, looks like NFL or NHL (N something L) same as the headlights.Originally Posted by lowell

My right headlight fixture is loose/broken after slightly hitting a deer. Any way to fix this or should I just replace it all? If I replace it what do you recommend? I would like brighter lights too.

You can buy those parts for less than 1 $ I guess. If you touch the lamp and it is loose, usually the rubber bushings are defective or just out of place.
You can also buy single items from the dealer. This pic just as info.

On this occassion you can also clean the reflectors and the glass from inside, light is much better after that.
