    Default Well, brake system woes!

Apparently the Mintex pads i was shipped from BMA were defective, because they lasted a whopping 8 miles. I got to the 7th mile of the test drive, and the pedal went to the floor, i thought i needed to bleed. I pulled off the wheels to have a look, and the pads were down to about 15% remaining. New ATE Powerslots were installed at teh same time as the pads too. I then switched back to my slightly used RaybestosQS ceramics, after sanding them smooth of course. 45 miles later, and the pedal is still firm as it should be, checked the pads again and they're perfect. Did i just get a faulty set of pads or what?

Did you take it easy the first 200 miles?? No hard braking whatsoever right??

I've never seen a pad wear that fast.. was it both pads down to 15%?? I would have to say its the rotor / pad combo , Mintex are good pads but with slotted rotors it will just act like a cheese grater with those pads... (IMHO)

200 miles? i made it 8 miles! and yes i took it easy. Also, this is what Yves recommended to me as a great setup, he uses them on his M3. I suppose this isn't a good combo on the 5!

Yves said just to box them up and send back. He's never heard of Mintex pads doing this, but it does happen.
