Default need more help with 1221 code...

Ok, so the other day I get a CEL that gives me the 1221 code. The car had been surging pretty good before that. Then when the CEL went on the surging went away. So I reset the light and the surging is now recurring.

So I am thinking that this would point to a bad O2 sensor and the surgin went away because it was bypassed when the CEL came on. Only problem is that when the O2 sensor is bypassed you normally would get terrible gas mileage, but I am getting the same I was before the CEL came on. Please let me know if this makes sense. I think that maybe I should just get it over and order a new o2 sensor? Thanks for all of the info,

    Jeff

Yeah I replaced a couple hoses that looked bad. Still have one more, but it is not the easiest thing to get to. I just thought someone with a similar problem might have some experience with this.

Default Unfortunatly with any leaks your gonna get codes,

even if you replace the O2 sensor. I have an intake leak and got a code 1222, disconnected the battery for a while as I inspected everything and when I drove it after it was much better but ended up throwing a 1213. Fix the leaks before moving to other more expensive things.

Alright that is what I will do. I have the hoses to replace the cracked ones, just need to get brave and get them on there.
