Bimmer bud, on a 740iL('94) how hard is it to replace the water pump and what brand do you recommend as replacement instead of OEM? Wifey's ride is losing a little bit of coolant (have to top off every three weeks or so) and the local stealer tested it and said the pump is the culprit. Could it be just the gasket/o-ring gave, or something else. They are quoting me over $600 to replace a $100 part, reasonable if cannot be DIY. Your opinion will be highly regarded.

On some cars you have to remove the ventilator. Needs a big tool. But are not sure if you need to do it on this engine.
