If you go to the online parts database...you can look it up. The wood trim is located under VEHICLE TRIM (main group) & INNER COVERS (subgroup): http://www.realoem.com/bmwOriginally Posted by dternst
Nussbaum, loosely translated, means "nut wood" or probably "walnut". The earlier e34 had a wood called Bubinga and could be had in either matt or high gloss finish. There is also another optional wood...Bird's Eye Maple...which I've never seen here in the States (on an e34)...probably a few are running around Europe , though.(Europe had the opportunity to build their cars and add the features they wanted ala carte) Because wood is a natural product...not every e34 will have the same exact pattern...and as we all know...the trim is real wood (thin veneer) under a thick layer of polyurethane (or other plastic).

i've seen some 540s with walnut with about a 1/8" strip of some light straight grain wood running length wise through it, my favorite is the canaidian m540 with the carbon fibre that has the motorsport colors woven into it, id give damn near anything in trade from the salvage yard for a complete set

Anyone care to take an educated guess at which type of wood this may be?
Thanks again in advance,
