    Default steering wheels

Anyone know what other BMW steering wheels will physically fit, ignoring the electronics, just physically fit on the splinned column of an early 1989 e34?

Default mTech2 wheel fits my '89.

I matched up some big washers behind the nut for a tight fit. Non airbag wheels need this with different spacing.

I was thinking of going mad and fitting an E46 multifunction, i can sort out the electrics, but what sort of fitting does it have?

if you had a 91 and up it would probably fit the column, they went from a 22mm nut in the early cars to a 18mm (i think) bolt, you could change to a later column if you wanted it bad enough

Default I've got a 92 w/ airbag what would you recommend?

My wheel is getting badly worn through in one spot. Need a new one but with airbag.

Are there options to use different (i.e. newer) wheels on the 92 535?

I would prefer not to have the electronics as I wouldn't know what to do with them. I do however want to have an airbag...besides my ex-wife. ;-)

you may look at the 94-95 e34 wheel with it's smaller bag and blue/white rondel in the center, no useless buttons
