    Default Brakes doing bad things!

    Hey guys,

On starting, especially if I am parked pointing down hill, the first time I brake after it has been started, I feel a major "clunk" and the brake pedal loses all pressure and goes down then instantly grabs and it won't happen again until I start it another time. The brake fluid is not leaking at all. What does this sound like it could be? Brake booster?

Also, I would like a lot firmer brake pedal and heard I could change the brake booster to one from a different car, which model should I be looking for that fits with no complications and will give me a firmer pedal?

    Thanks a ton.

Part of the ABS self-test does that. I always notice it because I park on a slope and I'm usually braking at the time it does it. It happens shortly after starting, you only notice it if you're braking at the time.

Wow. I always wondered why they did that. Thanks for the explanation.
