E36 Cooling Fan Question

Hey, I have a 1997 E36 328 and I have a question regarding the cooling fan.

I had some work done to the car and not having noticed before.. the fan isn't turning off when I turn off the car. How can I fix this? (other than going back to the mechanic)

and, any idea why it's doing this?

tap the fan relay and see it it shuts off.
