Hello all new owner of 1988 e34 535 looking for tips on engine tuning. i.e what works to get a bit more power out of the beast ?

Hi Dave,
The best bang for the buck is an engine management chip, not too hard to install and its the best initial investment you can make. Next improvement would probably be a rear differential swap for a better ratio.

Hello thanks for reply. I,ve worked through all the obvious so far i.e suspension and brakes are all ok and sorted so now its time for something a bit more fun. Hence I'm now looking at the engine So far nothing drastic tried other than fitting a K&N. Your suggestion for engine management chip swop makes sense. So next question is any recommendations bearing in mind I'm in the UK

I dont know what youll find over there but stop and think about that K&N, they let in more dirt and heat making them a poor choice. The engines power will actually go down with one of them.
