Default The big project problem sloved!

Some of you may remember several weeks ago, I took on a big (for me) project replacing the head, heater core and wiper mechanism. As it turned out, I had a problem with the car running hot. In the process, I replaced the water pump, t-stat, radiator, heater core and fan clutch and STILL the temp gage stayed at 3/4!

So, yesterday, I had a chance to look at another M20 and noticed that I had the wire connectors to the two sensors on the T-stat housing reversed. So I switched them... voila! The temp gage stays straight uo at the 1/2 mark.

So, yes I know I am stupid, but I'm relieved to know it's fixed and that it never was overheating in the first place. Thanks to all who offered their two cents. I really appreciate you willingness to help.

That is great news. Good Luck To You. Always good to have another vehicle around as a reference.
