    The weight is not supported very much at all by the lug bolts. Checking wheel torque goes without saying- having lug bolts come loose is bad news with or without spacers.

    Really, you should buy wheels that fit your car.
    That's best, but spacers are not a problem (again, if done right). Properly bolted down, the hub-spacer-wheel is essentially one piece and is not much different than the hub-wheel unit.

    Why don't you sell the M3 wheels and use that money to get wheels that don't need spacers and such. I had some M3 contours from my M3/4that I had just lying around and asked the same question you are because I wanted to put them on my beloved 530iT. Decided to sell and use that money to get some correct wheels
