improving radio reception

has any attempted to add (not replace) an additional antenna to their e34? my radio reception is not great on weaker stations and drops out quite a bit. maybe an adapter to plug in another antenna?

Ok, bump. I've installed an Alpine head unit and cannot receive anything but the strongest of local FM stations. Is a booster required? Bueller...Bueller?
