Default Say Hello to Mr. M1

I've been working part-time at my uncle's car dealership. In addition to your every day 911 Turbos, Ferraris, AMG, and Maserati, he has this cherry 1981 M1 with about 3K on it.

    Unreal.

Also check out the LeMans winner from 1991

    Cheers,
    Evan

You're the lucky nephew that we should all be so "lucky" to become, someday.

Have fun with it, my dream has passed, now I'm hoping to be the "Uncle".....=)

Was this picture taken at Stanford European, in Palo Alto? Does your uncle own it??

Sure looks like the same place we used to take all our BMW's for service from the 80's thru the early 90's, knew all the guys there... and the owner had a M1 he used to park on the showroom floor. Floor looked just like that, except they usually had a Lambo or two in there.

the name of the dealership is prestige motors in maryland... there is a pretty big demand for high-line/exotics due to the proximity to washington dc and delaware.. also, montgomery county in maryland is one of the nation's wealthier counties...

i'm having a lot of fun up there and i see a lot of great rides... i'll find out what year that slant-nosed porsche is... bt it does look like an 80s 930 or something

In the showroom is a 360 Spyder, a couple 911 Turbos (one with the X50 package), a GT3, and a 2005 AMG E55... also a Panoz Esperante Cabrio, a Z8 roadster, and a couple Maseratis (coupe and turbo) I've been driving an 02 Boxster S in black.. I really like it but as we all know, there is no car like an E34 ;-)

forgot to mention that Ted Hulse is the manager/lead mechanic.. he's won 117 out of 300 road races he's entered in that white porsche... (70 second place finishes) he built it from the ground up in his garage, including welding the tubes together... the Jaguar is the 1991 winner that Derek Warwick drove in 91 LeMans 24 hour... the red ferari dino is a really sweet car... and i think the M1 is not for sale but you can offer him $100K from petty cash, Alan!

Sorry the pics sucked, I'll try to take better ones next time.. I was in a hurry to get out of there! That's me standing next to the M1, by the way

    Cheers,
    Evan

I just accidently came across this thread, I'm sure by now you know everything there is to know about Ted Hulse *lmao* but if not why dont you ask to see this "Porsche" that he built in his garage. And if you know your steering wheel from a rotor, you'll be able to tell the quality of this so called "porsche racecar" with the corvette front brake system, welds that either didn't penetrate the metal or are so flimsy that the brackets move, under their own weight.

Look at the date... this thread is over a year old, most likely out of date. The password box appears to be for Evan's server to block access now.
