WTB: Stock US Ellipsoids
Hi,
With all the people that are swapping out their stock ellipsoids with upgraded new ones, I am wondering if anyone has a good set that they want to sell cheap? My sister-in-laws 89 525i is in desperate need of replacements (horribly pitted and cracked) and since it comes out of my pocket (she doesn't have the money) I would like to pick up a pair for cheap rather than buy some crummy far east made ones for $170.

There are still quite a few in good shape, i.e. my wife's 94 525i and mother-in-law's 735i. Given that someone may have a set of these laying around collecting dust, it would be nice to perchase a set in fair condition for cheap than put out $200-300 for a new pair (her current ones are horrible).

You could do an easy repair... replace the lens... Someone sells replacement lens for $30 I think on eBay... they are made of acrylic... some folks here did it already.

I saw the lens replacements, but her lamps have been cracked for so long, it appears the reflector assembly has corroded. I am afraid that I will get them apart and be unable to clean the reflector and be right back where I started.
