Hi when I depress my clutch pedal I can hear a grinding noise coming from transmission area and can feel it in the stick shift. Only when pedel is pushed in does this occur, otherwise car is fine while driving in gear or sitting in neutral.
Thanks

It's most likely the 'release' or 'throwout' bearing.
$30 part buried right next to your clutch. You'll want a second opinion before you tear into it. Take it to a local indie and ask them what they think.
The fix is basically a clutch job. No sense in just doing the throwout bearing if you open it up. Clutch is right there; parts are cheap relative to the labor.
Not an impossible job for a good DIY with an assistant.

thanks, I have an rx-7 in a million pieces in my garage and I need a car, so I'll be paying a mechanic for this one....any idea what the labor is on this job?
