Lets say that my indy offered me an M62 with ZF5HP30 attached. Basically the whole deal including electrics and subsystems. The source is a customer 1998 740i w/ 70k mi. that was rear ended, insurance totalled, and he's somehow gotten it. $1500.
Am I dreaming? Could I just buy a nik 540I and drop this in? I'm very familiar with the m60 but less so on the m62. The fuse box and the DME/ECU seem like obvious issues. Also limited slip diff.

the motor will drop right in with a few changes to external parts, i will bet that the tranny will not because of computer changes (and there is a different v8 tranny lurking in the later e38s) you will need to use the wiring and computers from the e34
