Gordon...pics of the baby beasty, please! Oh, you can take pics after you've finished having dinner on its engine!

Sorry i haven't been on for so long... this has been quite a busy three months.
Still have the E34 and just came back from a 300 mile round trip north... ran like a champ (well, a bit of a shimmy, but am able to drive "above" it).
Since i was last on, i have spent many (thats "many") hours working on the MG.... spent more time under it then in it. Replaced or cleaned just about everything... it all went very well. On August 4th, i turned the key (after tracing a bad coil wire and dirty points) and the little 1250 cc engine started on the first try... dropped to an 800 rpm idle and just sat there running. Have put 600 miles on it since then and it has been pretty well trouble free.
Funny having gearing that gives you 55 miles an hour at 3500 rpm (on my trip north i kept looking at 70 or so at 2500....
Anyway... have missed posting.... hope all are well....

TR2?
I used to work on MG's... about 15 years ago as a part-time mechanic. Ahhh... nothing like a pair of SU's and a 4 cylinder motor blurting out that MG sound.
I remember tuning the carbs with a hose to listen to the hiss in each intake, switching from carb to carb and tuning the nut until the hiss was the same.
Awesome ride! Looks like it has a loving owner now too.

You stole my Corvair carb-balancing method! Being musically inclined helps... I shoot for the same note.Originally Posted by Robin-535im
What a great looking car! That's a good excuse for not posting recently and glad to see you back.
