Help, 1992 525i is DEAD

I have a 1992 BMW 525i and i drove it to work today i went out side to start it up, it turns over, nothing, no spark, no nothing, at first it sputtered, then it wont try to start at all. it had some alternator trouble before hand, but it getting plenty of power. Woudl could be wrong, did my alt short out my electronics? I mgetting nothing from it. And im stranded at work.

Check your main fuse/fusible link by the battery... under the rear seat... follow the smaller battery cable.
