Think I might give this a shot. If I could retrofit the rain sensors off a newer model, then I would not have to think at all.

oh come on, don't you hate needing to move a hand almost a foot to turn on a switch, i mean dammit it's so agravating i sometimes just drive in the dark

I cheated, I put in a $10 relay (yes 10, not 2) to automagically turn off my lights when the key is off, othewise they are on all the time...
