    thanks

I'm getting a rattling at low 2k rpms, and right around 3k... I'm thinking it's the shaved single-mass flywheel I put in at the last clutch job, I should probably swap out the Redline MTL I put in there for something a little thicker (D4 ATF, maybe some Royal Purple...)

oil level is legit, it kind sounds like a small rod knock, actully its more of a tick, is this typical in the m30, i seemed to hear the same sound in my dads e32 735il??

try a valve adjustment if it's been a while, and when you are in there look at the cam lobes for excessive wear and loose banjo bolts on the cam spray bar

I had a ticking the lead to the rocker arm breaking thus creating a $1600 repair. Make sure the rocker arm is touching the valve correctly.
