With my foot to the floor, I've noticed big clouds of black smoke in my rear vision mirror, above 5000rpm. Is this a sign of impending doom? Or just a sign that my valves need adjusting, an inspection II is due in 2 green lights.

sounds like a rich fuel condition to me, I have no clue as to motronics as others do but might be your Oxygin sensors? Have you done a stomp test yet to see if any codes are stored? Are there any other symptoms?

Fuel enrichment at WOT??? Perhaps it's just a bit too rich?
