Default '90 525i - radiator leaking around bleed screw - new screw so O-ring is good

    1990 525i, 236k miles

Two years ago the bleed screw broke off and the dealer had to "drill" it out and put a new one in. It ran fine until about 2 months ago.

After lots of observations, I see it's leaking around the bleed screw. I thought it might be the o-ring so I replaced the bleed screw - it still does the same thing - little spits of water come from around the bleed screw when it's at operating temp.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Default Your radiator is dying. Replace it now and be happy in the long run.

Yup, sounds like the housing is cracking around the screw. You could try sealing it all up with permatex or other goop, but you'd be better off replacing the rad.
