I would have the pressure checked with a manual gage that you hook to the pressure port to rule that out first.
Hello,
I have a problem on my BMW 525, E34, M20 1988.
The oil pressure warning light in dashboard is flickerring. However, I am not getting OIL PRESSURE LOW warning on CC, and that oil pressure light is flickerring very mildly - a can notice it flickerring only when it is dark outside.
I have replaced the oil temperature sensor, but it did not help. However, every time someone touches the oil sensor - the oil pressure light stops flickerring for a few days.
My question is - can oil pressure light flicker very mildly (it is that bright when starting the engine, I can hardly notice it flickerring in daylight) if oil pressure is really too low? Or is it a wiring problem?
thank you,
G.V.
