I have just aquired a used and disfunctional flashlight to replace my non-existant one. How do I get the damn thing open to find out what's wrong? I've tried all manner of squeezing and desk-banging, there must be some simple way!

Nevermind...
I got the little ****er open, and it's completely screwed. There are two button cell batteries on top of each other, and one has leaked out all over the place, so there's just a big mess of corrosion and battery fluid in there.... but but the bulb is ok... anyone need a bulb???
so have forgotten about it.
how do you crack that thing open?
it probably needs batteries, too.
but at least I know who to ask for a bulb...
You could probably sell the bulb on Ebay for like $100,000....
It's glued shut, you just force it open, then have to re-glue it closed again. The battery is actually two batteries soldered one on top of the other. The electronics store I took it too didn't have any of those batteries in stock however... There's not much inside it, just battery, bulb, a resistor and switch. Apparently most fail due to overcharging, which heats up the battery until it leaks out, not such a great design as the charging socket is ignition-switched.
LMAO...thats funny!
