Default OT: random picture of my e34 abuse....

that i found when looking for some papers just now, taken during spring break of this year (impromptu trip to ft lauderdale). the gluttonous bastiges decided to strip (relatively speaking) our host's coconut tree. we estimated the CARGO weight at just about 300 lbs, plus a passenger load (luggage was diverted to another car to save its "newness"). the driver of my car (not me, of course) decided that it would be a lark to race a hyundai up to 120. the e34 did admirably

Default Ya know....you might have a future started there...

Here in South Florida, a trunk-load full of coconuts usually means that some enterprizing Cuban is collecting "inventory" for his "Coco-Frio" stand on the side of the road. Coconuts, a machete, and a few straws can get him a buck or two a pop on warm summer days.

OR... maybe you could try to get a little creative and carve them into wacky shapes for all those wonderful tourists that visit. A box of these, a supply of pecan logs, one of those machines that make the hot wax alligators or smush a penny into the shape of an armadillo, and some blow-up rafts and you could have your future made my good man!

how did i know that somebody was gonna suggest that i was trying to sell them....i don't normally drink coconuts, but they were ok washing down the 156 proof rum the night earlier. one shot chased by 1/2 pitcher of coconut juice to stop the burning. mmmmm.....rubbing alcohol.

The green ones ruled, I had one daily when I was in Jamaica. The guy selling them was really wacked out, the machette looked like it needed a good bleaching (I have the feeling the goat I had for dinner was wacked with the same one).

Default Yeah, you only drink from....

....the green ones. By the time they look more golden or brown on the outside they're only good to crack open and eat. There are a dozen or so trees in front of my house and every late-spring, early-summer the guys in pick-ups come by and "raid the trees" for the coconuts. After so many years playing with your nuts( yuck-yuck ), you don't really care if they take them or not anymore.
