Default Auto shift "knob" replacement kit?

It looks like the archives has several ideas on how to replace the shift "t-bar with wood knob on my 95 525i automatic. I am still in the research stage of this potential project.

Has anyone written up on the exact parts needed, procedure and best source for the parts? I would prefer bolt on BMW parts that did not need to be modified. I would hate to order parts, take it apart and find that I had the wrong part(s) or need to have something modified as my 525i is a daily driver.

    Thanks in advance
    Thanks,

I purchased the shifter on Ebay and took about 2 hours to replace.

I got my kit and pistol grip shifter from Circle BMW's website. However, I just looked at it and can't find it listed but I may be looking in the wrong place. The kit uses a shift shaft from a Z3 and has a spacer tube etc needed to make the changeover. I had to use a soldering gun to elongate the corrogated shifter accordian cover to allow the tube to pass through. Seems like the kit was around $50.00 and the shifter was another $30.00. Anyhow BMA can probably do better.

Kurt pics/links are correct. My shifter has the chrome insert instead of the burlwood. The wife calls it the "bling" package shifter but I no longer have the wood veneer console deck so it doesn't have to match.
