    Default manual transmission getting hot?

I really seem to get a lot of heat through the shifter boot on the 535. Does this seem normal to everyone? Not hot enough to burn my hand or anything, but very noticeable.

Mike, my 6-sp gets pretty warm at the lower extent of the shift boot. It gets pretty hot with the V-8's exhaust heading back...

I was going to ask the exact same question.

I noticed the same on my 535i 5-speed the other night. You could feel the heat a few inches away.
