I repaired mine. Seems that the usual thing that breaks off is the "ball" that goes into the socket. I dug around in my used bolts and screws bin and found a bolt that would go into the socket well. Rounded it off a little bit with a file and dremel and drilled a hole in the bracket. I think there was enough room on the back side to put a nut. I got it right and put some JB Weld around it to set it up well. I had originally tried to do this with the plastic ball but it broke off when I had to remove it and tried to reinstall. I'll do almost anything to save spending $80 bucks when I can rig something that works at home.
