Default Another Aux Fan Resistor Question.

If the ballast resistor is blow, shouldn't the high speed fan kick on at some point regardless? It turns on when I jump the wires, but not when it is hot out. Today it is 90 degrees out and I do not here the high speed fan kicking on.

Isn't there a fuse, like a 30amp, that can blow if the low speed doesn't work and the high speed tries to start from a stop? When my 535i was overheating (due to bad fan clutch), when the temp guage was going over about 3/4 then the high speed aux fan would come on, cool down, then the low speed came on. The low speed always came on with the AC button on regardless. Hope that helps.
