Whereabouts of Control Unit for BMW Security System

Just acquired a mint one owner (1991) 535 with low miles (58k) to replace one I wrecked last September.

I want to turn off the beeps on my remote security system. The BMW Owner's Manual tells me what to do, but doesn't say where the Control Unit is located. I'm guessing either under the dash on the driver's side, or maybe in back of the glove compartment. Anybody know?

under the back seat. thats where it is in mine. pull up on the front of the seat REALLY hard. you have to almost yank at it for 4-5 mins.
