Engine oil press on 540i. Need advice please.
ENGINE OIL PRESS message comes on after running for about 10 minutes then goes off after a few minutes but then comes on again. does this sound like a oil pressure switch or maybe the bolts on the pump are comeing loose. Anyone know what the symtoms of a oil pressure switch problem are or when the bolts on the pump are comeing loose? Thanks.

Sounds like the oil pressure sensor is going bad
The exact same thing happened on one of my 1991 525i's and replacing the oil pressure sensor solved the problem.

almost every v8 i've pulled the pan on has had loose (or fell out) pump bolts
