    Default E39 air con question

Left my 98 E39 into the dealer to have the air con looked at (was blowing lukewarm air) - has come back from the dealer with the message "Found gas has leaked from failed schraeder valve and condensor".

BMW want about £350 (about $550-ish) to put it right and I dont wanna pay them that so I have found a company that specialise in radiators and they say they can test and in 99% of cases repair the condensor.

My question, though, is relating to the schraeder value - is this a standard schraeder valve or is it BMW / BMW air con specific? Can the radiator company just use any schraeder valve or am I going to have to buy one from BMW? If so, any idea of prices?

    Many Thanks

    Jason

Default Schraeder valves are not bmw specific, any A/C supply house can provide you with one.
