Well, assuming you could find a replacement M30 for around $500 and you don't mind doing all the work yourself, it could be a pretty good deal if the tranny and suspension are solid.

Other things to check on an E32, though... does it have SLS? Is it working? Bushings/interior/etc? Some of that stuff gets expensive to replace.

Of course, you might even get lucky and be able to do a head gasket and a little freshening on the head, but I'd assume at this point that you needed a whole engine.

    Feeling "Wrenchy"?

i wouldn't just do a head on a milkshake that sat for several months, it turns into this nasty goo thats hard to remove without scrubbing, and the rust factor also

yea but if head is fine....I'll have about $120.00 in gaskets. Did the 535i which was fairly easy....

It does crank and run so thinking as soon as I get it drain the goo.....put in fresh oil....drain cooling sysem....start it up for a couple minutes and go from there.....whatcha think??

now if I have a cracked head will look for an engine...
