    Default AC Failure

While driving in traffic today, my AC quit. I turned it off as soon as I noticed the failure. When I got home, I shined a light down on the compressor and noticed the serp. belt was shredded but didnt break, and the clutch assembly looked like it was out of alignment. I checked the low pressure side and it was normal. So I didnt lose any R-134.

Is this just an AC compressor clutch failure? I gotta fix this quick.

    Thanks is advance.

check the belt tensioner.. my mechanic found that the bolt that bolted it in was stripped out and had to be re-threaded with a new (slightly bigger) bolt. is the clutch assembly the same thing as what im talking about? hmm...

might be out of left field but i had a similar occurance with mine.
