    Default coolant leak (with pictures)

I did a bit of searching around, and I think I found where the my coolant is leaking from, see pictures...

I squeezed the hose, it was easy to squeeze, and didn't feel brittle at all. So I'm wondering if something has gone wrong with that plastic piece where the hose connects...

If I am seeing the picture correctly I think that is your thermostat housing. Yes, that housing can have a hairline crack that you will not notice when the engine is off. When you get the engine running and up to speed the pressure will squeeze that precious coolant past that hairline crack. The housing is relatively inexpensive at the stealership. You might as well replace your thermostat while you're in there. Good luck !
