Speed limitation...can't drive over 220km/h!!!

HI...I'm facing a problem, on my last trip (2100 km long) i was trying to see how fast I can reach (before 245km/h).
But I couldn't go more than 220km/h..!!!
The RPM was arround 5500r/m I cant remember exactly, anyway...I have tried to do so many times!!!
Now, some times or most of times, I see that the RPB goes slowly after 4000-4500, and sometimes I feel that the acceleration is not like before.
Some told me that it might be the fuel pump and some says that it could be the electrical acceleration (or air flow controler)....I don't know really...

Any one can help?

what country are you in? i know my us 525i is limited to about that, felt like it could go more.

128mph is the limit for a stock chip i believe. EAT chip, and you'll about 155 or so

I don't think there's a top end limiter in the E34. Rev yes, speed no.

I suspect the car will go faster in 4th than 5th. I had mine up to 135 once and it was still pulling well when I goT out of the gas. Car is starting to get floaty at that speed - not the best feeling.

The first day I got her, I decided to take her out to this stretch of a 4 lane deserted access road.. got up to 140mph and got really scared and let off. Jesus that was a rush but not a very smart one. I believe I read that there is a limit at 155..doesnt mean that your inline 6 is going to get up there though

Phil,My 94 540i lights 110 + max hp doues yours say that also I can do about 130 then it dyes out
