Speaking of motor oil ~ Mobile 1 0w-40

In talking with my son today he told me the M1 jugs are 5 quarts not 4... He is right! So when I changed my oil a month ago I just added 2 jugs and called it a day, just checked it and it is 1 1/4 inch above the full mark! When did they change the amounts in the jugs? Have to drain some out once it cools down.

It depends on where you buy them, from wallmart they are 5 qt, from many others 4qt.

Yes have to look now. I would have never thought it would have become a larger volume since down sizing seems to be the norm. On a good not the oil we drained out was a yellow/orange color most likely from washing tarnished internal parts. Seemed like we drained a lot but ended up 1.5 quarts. Still on the utmost top of the level on the dipstick. Prefer just above the low line, has much more power and mileage.
