Default 1995 525i Radio replacement recomendations

My stock 1995 bmw radio with tape deck may be on it’s last leg.. I know I can send it to Dr. Don and have it rebuilt and updated with an aux jack. However I am looking for a quality plug-in radio with no change in wiring, amps or speakers. I do want all the usual items, AM, FM, CD. I also want upgrades such as HD, iPhone compatibility etc., I want a unit that looks like it belongs in these cars. No flashy appearance. What is the current thinking?
    Thanks,

So many options though I don't know of any that will fit your bill unless you use a wiring converter harness made for these models.

Probably the best advice relates phones: If you want your mobile with you in the car like everyone else, be sure to get a bluetooth one, you can even play music through it and elegantly handle incoming and outgoing calls.

I should have more clear. A wiring converter harness is fine. Just do not want to cut wires. Thanks,

I have the CD43 with the GROM USB adapter.. this allows me to use an old HTC smartphone with around 9 GB of storage to play music.. you could also use a USB stick..
CD43 is Plug and play with the existing harness plug
pricey but no more skipping CDs

Thanks, a good alternative. At this point, my primary choice.
