E34 gas pedal removal - bush replacement on pedal shaft

i have to replace the two bush that sits on the gas pedal shaft.

can someone give me some pointers and pictures how and order of steps to do this?

google around but could not locate the actual steps.

I had to do mine on my 89, the gas pedal was binding when you pressed it, it took more effort than it should.
I found some good bushings at a junkyard when i was picking up other parts. I had to remove the shaft and slide the bushing off and on around the
bend in the shaft. Sorry can't give you any real description of the job, it must have been easy or i'd remember it better.

Did mine a couple of months ago, it's quite an easy job. I used new parts from BMA. There are two per car.

Just pull the panel above the pedals, pop the retaining clips (part 9) off. Slide the metal arm out of the plastic pedal (the metal arm has a small lug on it that keys into a corresponding key hole in the plastic pedal). Slide the new bushes onto the metal arm and re-assemble in reverse. I think you have to take the spring off to do the bush on the left, but I can't remember for sure. Anyway it all easy.

You get a more accurate feeling pedal after its done and mine stopped squeaking too.

one of the side has a 90 degree bend before it - how do i insert the bush - brute force? will it break as the new bush feels pretty hard.

it slides around that corner no problems at all.
