    Default OT - Reagan Library

I am working about 3 miles from the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, CA. I decided to check it out today and took a few pictures. Since I was on my lunch hour I skipped the museum part and will save that for another day when I have more time.

They were directing traffic since the parking lot was full they were having people turn around and park on the road leading up to the library. Since I was driving a e34 BMW they motioned me to park in the parking lot.

Default Ya know.....funny you should post this.....

....but here's a little "local flavor" story for you.

Last night I went to see the Florida Marlins play the ChiSox here in town. This year, there has been a new promotion going on at all Marlin's home games. It's called "12 for 12". The way it works.....and all Atkins devotees please turn away here.....is that whenever the Marlins get 12 hits in a game, Krispy Kreme will redeem your ticket for a free dozen donuts! Well, last night Florida kicked Chicago's booty 4-0....AND....yep, FREE DONUTS FOR EVERYONE!!! So about 10:45 last night I was in line at the local house-o-love for my 12. With about 1,500 other fans too. You get 24 hrs. to redeem the ticket, but they just taste sooooo much better when you've just finished your 4th brew and you've won and you go to Krispy Kreme afterwards!

This is my second dozen this year too. The promotion has gotten to be real popular. When, if, the team gets to 10 or so hits, the fans all start chanting, "donuts, donuts, donuts, donuts!" They've done it about 6-8 times so far this year, one Saturday night attendence was about 40k! God Bless America!

My wife was a debutante here in Raleigh many moons ago...the night of the Deb Ball, I, being the suave romantic that I am, took her to Krispy Kreme in my old RX7, her in her ball gown, me in my rented penguin suit...

    Memories...

My wife had it made...they numbed her up she slept through everything. I was up for 48 hours, was driving home to get a change of clothing so I could do back to the hospital (the room was 1500.00 day and for that much I'm gonna enjoy it!) when I saw the HOT light fire up. Grabbed 2 dozen hot ones, gave the nurses one and I sat behind the nursing station and ate them while downing whole milk. That was good, then the sugar kicked in.
